Skinned up to Lower Riddell Lake at about noon and observed dozens of D1-D2 wet loose avalanches on all aspects except for East and Southeast. Snow was heavy and saturated. Signs of isolated collapsing. Observed old crowns along eastern aspects. Observed large D4 avalanches in the St. Mary zone. Heard very large D4+ avalanches all day. Signs of wind loading on south aspects. The hills were alive. Stuck to safe terrain and proceeded cautiously.

Saw dozens of D1-D3 wet loose avalanches throughout the Grey Wolf zone. Heard very large potentially D4-D5 avalanches all day in the St. Mary zone. They sounded like a freight train with jet engines falling off a cliff. Saw large continuous crowns in the St. Mary bowls.
