Quick report
No directly witnessed instability on our ascent. 15 degrees with no new snow overnight, but with marked surface hoar. Snow pit stability tests revealed 75cm depth with PWL at 25cm and 55cm. 25 cm layer was stubborn, but we noted at 55 cm sudden planar collapse with elbow tap x5 without displacement on 29 degree slope, but this was easily displaced with manual force and tumbled over as a consolidated mass. We had intended to ski a slope with maximum 35 degree slope, but altered our decent to choose a slope with 26-28 degree. The regional forecast was moderate for elevation less than 5,000 feet, but I would rate this slope/aspect/elevation as considerable today Surface hoar
