Quick report
There were no visible signs of instability at Source Lake, the cornice noted the other day was obscured from view so we couldn’t confirm / deny its presence. 5in of dense & wet snow had fallen by 1330 that was bonding to last night’s melt freeze crust well. The latest MFCR was breakable on and off skis. No wind was observed in the Alpental valley. A small pit revealed heavy amounts of water in the snowpack and three MFCRs down to 30cm. A few parties toured up big trees.
Avalanche
We observed approximately day old D1 wet loose slides with 10-12cm of Sunday’s snow on top. These occurred on northern aspects around 3600ft in the vicinity of mushroom couloir.
