Quick report
Hiked from the base of Hyak to the top of the East Peak chair, climbing up the face without skis until we were able to use skins around the second fire road. Bottom of the mountain has almost no snow, conditions significantly improved upon reaching the treeline--better coverage and snowing. Snow was heavy in all areas, but surprisingly dry near the top. No observed signs of instability, although we were traveling in the dark last night and stayed well under high slope angles at all times. Lots of exposed terrain starting at the lower traverse, multiple creek crossings along the traverses as well.
