Quick report
Just a quick report to add to previous observations in the area. Temp. above freezing, east aspect, elevation 6000. From a pit, the boundary between the two recent snow events is becoming more reactive, and the contact with the EFC and the first new snow is still apparent. We faked a saw shear test ( didn’t have a book to review the procedure) and I call it startling, shearing the contact with the EFC it came shooting off with the saw in ~20 cm. There is a new melt freeze? Crust 1 cm below the surface. Sorry this is not more precise, my partner had planned to do the report but got tied up.
