Skies cleared overnight after yesterday's rain. Semi-breakable 2cm crust formed at surface.

Snowpack

Snow cover began at about 3500ft in clearings, although ground was bare in tree covered areas until about 4300ft. At 5000ft snow depths were 3ft.

The mild surface freeze from clearing skies last night meant flotation devices were only sinking about 5cm deep and foot penetration was about 20cm. The entire snowpack was moist except for the surface freeze all the way up to my max elevation of 5000ft.

Distant peaks up to nearly 7000ft didn't show any noticeable new snow coverage from the last day's precipitation.

The surface crust broke down on steep south-facing slopes quickly. No wet loose activity observed.
