Quick report
Not much in the way of avalanche hazard out there today. However, there were still plenty of things to run into. Rocks, trees, bushes, and open creeks were common and presented the greatest danger.

Very light snow showers through most of the day. The winds were nearly calm. Generally poor visibility.
Snowpack
About an inch of new snow sat on top of a generally strong snowpack.
Around 1-3 ft of snow covered most of the terrain. There was a marked increase in snow coverage about 6000ft. While there were still plenty of obstacles, most of them were obvious. Since I wasn't sinking into the snow, i wasn't worried about hitting submerged rocks/trees.
Looking at the snowpack on a variety of aspects between 5400 and 6600 feet, it all looked very similar. Thick and strong melt-freeze crusts made up the bulk of the snowpack all the way to the ground. Sometimes you could find small weak facets between these burly crust, however, the crust were so strong, it took aggressive sawing to isolate any blocks.
