Collapsing
isolated

It was thick and creamy out there today. Warm temperatures (warmer as we climbed), overcast skies, and humid conditions made it feel like the green-housing was in full effect last night and today. Snow surfaces were gloppy, sticky, moist and slow from 7k’ to 9k’, and at their wettest below 7500’. Faint precip fell intermittently throughout our brief tour today and a light drizzle was falling most the way back up towards Galena Summit on the way home. We triggered one muffled collapse at 8800’ on a N aspect in generally sheltered terrain. No other obvious signs of instability.
