Traveled out alpental valley to source lake, up big trees, and draft dogger ridge to 4800'. Cold and sunny through the valley with moderate to strong wind gusts from the east at ridge top. Winds calm between gusts. During gusts moderate blowing snow. Wind effected snow on ridge line was very reactive with shooting cracks. Triggered very small wind slab avalanche on convexity. Snow out of wind effect zones was still very dry and powdery with surface hoar on all elevations and aspects.
