Quick report
Supportable snow surface around Carson Pass that lasted into the early afternoon. Snow was less supportable under dense trees and on steep N aspects. Otherwise, snow surface conditions were not very different by aspect - everything became edgeable around the same time late morning, and soft enough by early afternoon that even though ski penetration remained minimal, boot penetration was 6" and test slopes produced shallow, 2" deep wet loose failures. I saw no evidence of natural activity - not even current roller balling around the steep and rocky slopes above Woods Lake.
