Cracking
isolated

Toured the East Bowl of Stevens Peak this morning. Temperatures were below freezing all morning with broken and overcast skies, off and on snow, and moderate winds from the SW, W, and NW. Shooting cracks were observed on near ride line SE terrain at 9500' and a snowboarder unintentionally triggered a wind slab on an E aspect at 8900'. While climbing for the first lap at 845 multiple 15'-20' shooting cracks were observed in the span of 10 steps on SE near ridge line terrain at 9500'.
