Skies began clear in AM and quickly transitioned to upper level stratus. Calm winds and temps in the low 30's.
Snowpack
Stability tests on north aspect at 5,600' revealed weakness in the new snow interface and under the December 7th rain crust. While we saw no propagation in test results there were obvious signs of slab development and poor bonding under skis during our travels. On southerly aspects we did get propagation under the 12/7 rain crust with light force (ECTP5) in areas with a thinner snowpack. New snow and wind loading will likely need a bit more time to settle and gain strength before venturing into terrain steeper that 30 degrees.
