The snowpack voiced it's concerns with us today - both in the form of propagating test results and remotely triggered avalanches. Two buried layers of surface hoar around two feet below the surface with a cohesive slab above is all the recipe for instability, just lacking a trigger. Tread lightly as our snowpack concerns are found on many slopes especially at mid and upper elevations.
Remotely triggered a large avalanche on a north to northeast-facing slope while walking along a treed ridgeline. Numerous audible collapses in larger openings, but cracking was limited to along the skin track and drifted areas.Weather

Obscured skies for most of the day and light snow showers with no measurable accumulations. Winds were gusty to start in the morning and transitioned to lesser speeds during the day. Clouds started to break late afternoon with some views into neighboring terrain. Cold temps.
