Quick report
Storm riding and powder day. 4-6" of new snow with wind drifted pockets of 8-10". S1 snowfall pretty much all day. Winds were howling out of the West above 9000', stuck to protected terrain and didn't see much for wind slab development. Biggest concern was storm slabs, which were reactive on one steep, convex test slope (6" slab failure). Decent sloughing on steep north slopes, but not as reactive as expected with the low density stellars last nights snow fell on. Othwerwise no other signs of instability. New snow lacked slab quality, continued snowfall will change that and likely increase reactivity in coming days. Best powder riding on north to east, not solar aspects, which also have the poor PWL structure.
