I was curious to see if we had near surface facets and what our snow was like before the upcoming storm.

Where we dug, we found slight near surface faceting occurring, but there was not a crust. During our tour in other locations, the crust was present with more prevalent near surface facets.

Snowpack

Snow conditions varied greatly with aspect ranging from breakable crust on solar aspects to dense loose snow topped with facets on northerly aspects.
