Quick report
General impression today was that S to E aspects experienced more natural roller balls and wet loose avalanche activity the last couple days while today only minor fresh natural rollers were observed. North aspects at high elevations held dry wintry snow and some east facing slopes and flat areas had a thin breakable melt freeze crust with dry snow underneath. Several older natural wind slab crowns from recent storm were visible in N to E facing above tree line terrain. Glide cracks were visible on an east aspect near Soldier Lake in Yosemite. Previous winds had scoured or sculpted some higher elevation terrain features while some areas had relatively little wind effect.

Higher elevation ridges above 11,000 ft experienced light winds from SE and near to slightly below freezing temperatures. Mid and lower elevations were calm and above freezing.
Avalanche
Several small (D1) wet loose avalanches were observed on SE and E facing terrain. Most appeared to have occurred yesterday with more minor natural roller activity today. Some small skier-triggered dry-loose sluffs occurred on steep NE facing terrain in the Red Lake Bowl area.
