The Alaska Avalanche School toured into 3 zones from Independence Mine Lot to dig pits today: -NW aspect on Microdot at 3700ft -NW aspect in Hatch Creek at 3360ft -NW, SW & SE aspect on Rae Wallace at 3600ft All pits found good structure, good strength and no propagation in tests. Skiing was great in the shade but there was a noticeable crust while skiing down S facing.
