Quick report
- Cracking
- specific
While trying to ski cut various shots off North Core ridge, we saw some shooting cracks but could not get any substantial propagation or get anything to slide. Julian saw a small crown from a recent storm slab avalanche near the pinned location. We found a wide range of coverage with everything from exposed rocks on the ridge to thigh-deep storm snow with a supportive base, in the Inner Basin about 200-600 ft below the ridge. On the ridge at 11:00 am there were 5-10 mph winds out of the South East, and by the time we were back on the ridge around 2 pm, the wind had shifted, coming out of the North West at around the same speed.
Avalanche
We saw one small storm slab crown at the top of Core Ridge on a NE slope at about 35 degrees.
