Guessing this was a natural that went on the afternoon of 1/28, saw this just before 1pm on the 29th.
Forecaster Comments: On the morning of January 30, 2024 a team from the UAC went to look at this avalanche. It was just down canyon of where most travelers top out in Cardiac. This avalanche appears to have been triggered by wet snow coming off the rocks. However, the avalanche failed on a buried persistent weak layer of faceted snow near the ground.
