Quick report
Our AIARE Level 2 course headed up the Summer Lion Head trail, and using a hand sheer test, found that the wind slab by the traverse was very stubborn and bonding well, agreeing with the daily forecast. We then hiked over to Lobster Claw and saw evidence of cross loading on the eastern aspect of the buttress to skiers right of Lobster Claw, as well as old crown lines. Right gully showed similar cross loading, but the skiable surface was well bonded. The top ~100 feet of the gully was very firm, and all parties were grateful it wasn’t any more so.
