Quick report

Red Flags
Recent Avalanches, Wind Loading, Poor Snowpack Structure

Winds were blowing the past few days but we did not ski any terrain that offered an oppertunity to take a look at slab formation. Thick snow on W aspects, getting baked.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

We found the facets, but they were way less reactive than I'd expect. Dug three pits on NW aspects @ 9,000, All 165cm-170cm HS, all ECTX. Unreactive and hard to make fail. Interesting. As Staples mentioned, it's harder to trigger after 5'-7' of snow but not impossible. Very Colorado in April situation.
