Set off D2 R3 avalanche on north face of Whetstone at about 11,400 foot elevation. Was transitioning to put on ski crampons when stepping off board triggered the avy. No really sign of instability except for one small collapse at a much lower elevation. Caught for short ride and then road out and down with no other issues.
