Below 5k frequent settling and cracking 2-6’ around and away from skis. Quite the hollow and bottomless snow pack here. Found mixture of light and dense powder. On more open terrain on south and east there was buried non reactive wind slab. Dug one out at 5900’, north aspect, depth 115 cm. Ectx. Saw the crowns on Nyack that Cam photographed, there were similar crowns lower down in cascadilla as well. Wind transport apparent on all the major summits and ridgelines but none where we were. Come on mid week storm….
