- Poor Snowpack Structure
- Red Flags Comment
-
We found some areas with rather poor snow structure, especially in shallow mid-elevation areas. But, we observed no other obvious signs of instability... The rapid addition of weight to the snowpack from heavy snow and wind-loading in the next couple days could activate buried thin sugary or faceted layers.

Here's a short video showing a snow pit (ECT test) in the ENE facing slope at around 8400' in elevation...
A good day for learning about avalanches, riding in nice powder, and checking out the amazing views. All-in-all a great field day in the Logan backcountry.
Snowpack
Nice powder conditions in the ENE facing bowls. Shallow, bushy, and windswept in places on the west facing ascent\descent route....
