Quick report
- Collapsing
- widespread
Two widespread collapses on accent below 1000’ on east face. Probing on the go we felt two crust layers in snow pack. The lowest crust layer was of concern. It was 3 to 4 feet down, very firm and sat atop a 3 to 4 inch reactive layer that was collapsing at ground level. This was a lower sun affected slope with some wind higher on the mountain. The consistent collapsing as we ascended towards tree line resulted in a cautious ski.
