Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

A couple of quick laps on Nadahini with soft new snow over variable old snow. The entire snowpack wasn't very consolidated and you would post-hole up to your thigh stepping out of your ski. Found weak sugar snow near the ground and a couple of crust layers. Wind hadn't picked up which was unusual to see the pass not scoured!

Collapsing underfoot with the weight of two people.

Calm. Overcast with fog and periods of clearing. Near-freezing temperatures at the border getting colder further inland.

Snowpack

Poor structure, moderate strength, and friction on the weak layer. Propagation yes, but in small pockets. Brittle and variable slab over the weak layer. We also saw some D1 natural wind slabs on steep road banks. Maybe 20cm thick.
