Break between storms, calm
Snowpack
40 cms of drier snow overnight was found with storm totals measuring 80 cms. Pit results at a fresh crown produced ECTP11 down 80 cms. The failure plane was new/old interface, with a hard bed surface 10 cm below. Hand shear pits failed on isolation repeatedly at the same interface.
Bed surface was created by the beginning of the month wind event. Snow above/failure plane was 10 cms of consolidated snow that fell 2/3-4 and faceted during clear and calm of 2/6-8.

Several natural avalanches released from upper elevations of Embick Peak with many sympathetic avalanches observed at mid and lower elevations of the path. Some of these are expected to be triggered by powder blast from Embick avalanche that ran full path and affected the common up track at mid elevation. Low elevation avalanches ~3 feet in depth were noted with a couple affecting the common up track at low elevation.
