Quick report
Hit the 'ol Glory bootpack to look at some high elevation snowpack. No natural activity although visibility wasn't great. Warm temperatures and time have helped create a more cohesive slab of recent snow and is supportable on skis (not so on boots). Pretty thin coverage on Twin still. Surprisingly no propagation for ECT, but unstable PST scores. Certainly going to continue to play it safe with the variable early season snowpack and a new cohesive slab above those weak layers. We'll see how the warm temperatures tomorrow influence that concerning new/old interface.
Snowpack
New snow from the recent storm has stiffened into a 4F hard slab (16 inches deep). Dug on a N aspect just below 10,000' and surprisingly ECT but PST 30/100. Main concern is the new/old snow interface of weak facets formed after the Thanksgiving storm. These sit right below a thin hard to notice melt freeze crust.
