this pit was dug a hundred yards or so from the avalanche that slid down lanes leap yesterday. same aspect

- <p>tests in pit failed on top of facets. Avalanche next door failed at the same place. </p> <p>SW winds were transporting snow for most of the day. Not quite as heinous as previous days but enough to have scoured most of the new snow off of the ridge and windward slopes. on upper elevations some wind slabs had reached finger hardness and were of varying depth. </p>
