Toured out to Soda Peak and eventually up towards 7500' on Broken Top. We observed a a couple whumps while touring through some flat meadows between Soda Peak and Broken Top. We saw no cracking or collapsing once we got near tree line and above. We dug a pit at 7,000 ft on a North/ NE aspect on Soda peak which resulted in a ECTP22 down about 90cm at the interface of the early February crust and the thin layer of facets. Fracture character was PC (progressive compression) . The weak layer collapsed on the 22nd tap all the way across the block and then the whole slab popped out on the 23rd tap.
