Quick report

Went for a quick walk in Murdock Basin to see what the recent snow and winds have been doing. The Highway Department is still maintaining the highway. Around 6" new from Monday and Tuesday and the burly east winds have drifted the cold light density snow into some stiff drifts which would crack around skis. Still very thin conditions with lots of rocks and stumps to worry about.

The snow pack is starting to develop a few different layers. There is a fairly stiff wind slab with light density snow underneath, a couple old heat crusts and sugary faceted snow near the ground. Pretty typical early season snow conditions.
