Got out for some viewing today and folks were getting after it, tracks all over slopes
Winds blowing from the west continued loading more snow onto our weak snowpack structure. Some places I could barely get a ski or pole into.
Walking along this ridge, we collapsed it near a small thin spot on a rock outcropping, and shooting cracks went all the way up the ridge. There is just not enough old snow beneath the slab in shallower places, and slopes are arresting and shattering once collapsed, versus avalanching.
