Skied north side of Ralston Creek. From Highway 97 (750m) to the power line (930m) we observed a thick crust (.5 to 1cm) sitting on top, created by the mild weather and rain that occurred on 2019-01-02. Above the power line the riding condition were good with sugary top layer (approximately 10-15cm). The snowpack appeared to have bounded well together. We could feel with our poles some layers approximately 10cm and 20cm deep. We saw some cracks but they did not propagate. Near the top (1600m), the snow was affected by wind. Be safe out there!
