Commonwealth

Went up to ski commonwealth couloir (bottom up) to see how far we could get. Saw numerous loose wet up to sz 2 on all aspects. We where surprised with the amount of debris we found in the fan considering the line starts fairly high up and is N facing. As we climbed snow improved and the snow in the line ranged from decent to really good. Snow stayed cold and dry the entire time we where there. We made it half way and past only the first crux. There is a fixed line at the first real cliff band but the rope is extremely stretchy and didn’t seem very trustworthy. We tried to climb through but we quickly realized it wasn’t going to work so we bailed. Ps Smuts still looks great and really everything up there is holding up well for end of May!
