Mt Remo - West Face

Northwest Coastal

Skied west face of Mt Remo. Crowns from natural avalanches could be seen all along the steep south side of the west face. Crowns were forming across the exposed rock just under the ridgeline. Snow pack was pretty thin on the center ridge we used to skin up. Bergscrund for the ice patch was exposed and quite prominent. North side of the face skied very well, without any sluffing. Snow was powder, maybe slightly wind compacted. Project pillows was deep powder and sluffy. Coming out Mystic valley was the crux of the day. The creek is not filled in enough to ski down yet.
