Deep pow at Alpen!
South Coast

Very deep snow and an obviously reactive snowpack. Consistent snow from around 800m. Deep trail breaking, but fun & deep skiing even on low angle slopes. Hard to move! See snowpack tab for some other observations.
CTE 5 @ 20cm SP Rutschblock test produced R2 for the layer from before this storm which sat at 60cm. It slid incredibly easily with a single gentle step onto the slope. The upper layer @20cm mentioned in the compression test slid before I even stepped on the slope (As seen in the first photo). Tests were done on an isolated 30° N/NW facing slope at 2:30pm. Cloudy in the morning with heavy winds, then some sun & cloud as the day progressed with lower winds leading to some minor pinwheeling.
