Swiss North Groundtruth

After reading PPENHEIMER's report stating that Swiss North was "truly terrible" last week, 3 independent groups blazed up the South Face of Swiss today to investigate, firmly believing in themselves and their hypothesis that "it goes". The S climb held up well to solar inputs with a crust persisting into the afternoon. The chokes on the S face are thin and faceted and will probably be exposed rock in the near future. Arriving triumphantly at the top, it was confirmed that the upper section of the face had slid, creating boney, 50 degree, "truly terrible" conditions. 3 parties gathered at the top of terrible, gave up groundtruthing and decided to rap in, tiptoeing down the boney choke. They had been warned and did not listen! The newly formed survival team made it to the face, where wind pressed soft snow showed no signs of instability. Sorry PPENHEIMER for not believing you. If you don't want to believe us, 60m of rope will help, maybe some pins and tat too. We were really happy that we brought our "can do" attitudes so we suggest that as well.
