Burstall Pass

Kananaskis

Was expecting to see some wind slab in burstall today but found a very consistent density top to bottom. Didn’t feel the Oct crust (scientific pole handle plunge) anywhere except at the very top of the pass. Skin track fully covered from drifting o/n but no stiffness or slabby nature to the snow. Snow depth varied - a few thinner spots of 20cm over rock, but generally 70+cm. I wouldn’t have wanted to be the last one out today - track down to the lake track was starting to show rocks when we left at 1.
