Rain event this morning w/ rain up to 12K. Overcast skis with the ceiling hanging at 11,5K. Pulses of graupel with minimal accumulation. Temps hovered in the high 20's at ridge top and right around freezing at the base. WSW winds were gusting into the 40's at ridge top and up to 30 down low.
Snowpack
A 3mm wide spread rain crust on all aspects and elevations in our tenure. Rain turned to snow sometime around sunrise. The rain crust was a mix of supportive to breakable. Warmer temps at lower elevations (LWW/ Front yard) the crust was softer with better ski quality. Low elevation and low angle was the best option for the day. Snow surfaces were mostly dry under the crust at higher elevations and slightly moist at lower elevations.
