Normally we like to keep the MIN as avalanche-conditions-specific as possible, but conditions are really benign at the moment and some access details might help fellow adventurers out when the flakes fly again.
We had low temps of 2 degrees C at valley bottom and a balmy 10 degrees at Cain. Beauty of a day for a spring ski once the surface softened up.
1. The road to Mt Ashwood is blocked by debris, see photo. Not sure why, but it didn't look too hard to clear with a bit of elbow grease.
2. The Claud Elliott Main has patchy snow coverage that probably won't be workable until it decides whether to be snowy or bare. Old sled tracks evident.
3. The Schoen Road (also pictured) has been cleared of blowdown! Many thanks to the kind souls who did that. It gets a bit too icy for wheels at km 15 but looks in good shape for a sled recce thereafter. One of these days, Kokummi Pass! One of these days!
