Observation: Dog Leg Trees

We used the snow scope probe and could instantly see poor snowpack structure. We did not venture far up into the Dog Leg trees because the slope above is steeper than 30° and we did not feel comfortable due to dangerous avalanche conditions..

We found neat rimed covered branches. Rime is caused by water vapor droplets in the air freezing to solid objects.
