Quick report

Went for a quick morning lap up Sunburst with the goal of setting personal season snowpack baselines, hunt down surface hoar growth, and look at the new/old snow interface. We found 1-2mm surface hoar growth from the road to at least ~3400'. We dug a quick pit to record snowpack structure at 2500' on a west aspect of Sunburst. We found about 2' of soft snow with two density changes within the top 2' and all of it was sitting on top of a thick melt-freeze crust. We found a thin layer of 2mm faceting rounds above the crust. Skiing was deep, slow, and fun!
