Very touchy day in the backcountry! Easy to trigger a slide on most any slope over 30 degrees. Some were shallow storm slabs.. other stepped down to deeper, weak layers.
Avalanche
Widespread natural storm slabs and remote triggered storm slabs on most NE - NW slopes at treeline. Multiple skier trigged storm slab avalanches on N and NW slopes at Treeline. Size D2 R3 (enough to bury and wide propagation) . These larger sides were stepping down to weak snow just above the rain crust about 2 feet deep. Widespread whumpfing, collapsing and shooting cracks...
