Quick report
=4* in the am, 12* mid day at 7,000', and 18* back at the car in the afternoon. Mid layer stratus then clearing in the afternoon. Light canyon winds with some moderate gust along the ridge lines, calm in the afternoon. =Surface snow consisted of mostly undisturbed stellar crystals. The top 30-40 cms (most recent storm cycle) includes a couple density changes, with just enough cohesion to create a few noticeable interfaces, but not yet a soft slab. This sits on top of the storm snow from 2 weeks ago. Below that consists of decomposing crusts and facets all the way to the ground. =We skied E, ESE aspects, from the top, down to Paola Creek, open planar terrain, convex slopes with no signs of instability. =Excellent skiing. =Still a bit brushy below 5k. =Couldn't have asked for a better day, except maybe if I had been skate skiing out the 5 mile South Dickey Creek Road in my alpine touring gear.
