•Spent the day skinning Patrol Ridge (6600-7200') under overcast skies with temperatures hovering around freezing. •A M/F crust exists on solar aspects from the last few days of sunny weather. It ranges from supportable (S aspect) to break-able (E/W aspect) •Surface hoar was noted, but only in shaded, sheltered and appeared to be decomposing with the recent temperature inversion •Our ECT didn't produce any results, but the upper half of the snowpack is weak and faceted above and below the 12/22 crust which was 3cm thick and degrading (friable) at 6900' •Light snowfall began around 1300 and persisted throughout the day. Below 6000' it was raining. •Overall, the snowpack is very thin in the Skyland area in comparison to the Flathead Range
