- <p>The good news is that we have added nearly a meter of snow on top of our October facet layer in the upper cottonwoods. Adding this much snow will slowly allow the weak grains at the base to gain strength <strong>it is just going to take time</strong>. More suspect areas would be outside of the upper cottonwoods where the Thanksgiving storm did not produce as much snow leaving those areas more thin and slower to strengthen. I found a deteriorating temperature crust at the top of the weak layer with the weakest snow right below it. I was getting propagation in my ECT tests at the facets below the crust. </p>
3 - 4 inches of dense cream made for excellent riding conditions on low angle slopes.
