Red Mountain

We ascended to the E/NE trees between the main N gully and the smaller one lookers right. Starting around 8:30. Sun crusts and old tracks were quite annoying up until 8k. Heinous wind crusts were on the more N facing aspects around 8.5k which we avoided. Heading back towards the sunnier trees. No slabs were found below crusts with hastys on our way up to 9.2k. Cracking and collapsing was observed in pockets of surface crusts, but nothing ever extended more than a few feet. Skiing was quite good and worth lapping. I didn't see mention of the crown in the N gully in the observations from the last week. I've attached a photo, it seemed a bit small to be persistent slab, but the snowpack was relatively shallow before the big storm.
