Schuylkill Ridge

The snowpack structure still looks poor, but it has quieted down. Slabs are thick and stiff enough (75-80 cm, up to 1F at the bottom) that ski pen isn't near the weak layer anymore. It's still easy to reach the weak layer by stepping out of skis or stabbing skis into the snowpack, and my attempts to get feedback with ski cuts, stomps, ski stabs, etc from suspect frequent fliers yielded only one small collapse. Stability tests produced hard, non propagating results. The top 1" got wet on BTL east and the top 3" to 4" got wet on BTL south, which produced a few rollerballs below rock bands. 

I was aggressively hunting for signs of instability with ski stabs, postholing, stomps in suspect terrain. I got one collapse that radiated about 20 feet. I was standing above a start zone and adjacent to another when I triggered the collapse and neither produced cracking or released.
