Quick report

There is enough snow on open slopes at low elevations just above the valley floor to create an avalanche hazard now. There is generally an ice crust that is a good bed surface. Most slopes have light snow on top of this crust. This light snow can be a weak layer if denser snow falls on top of it. It can also be an avalnache problem itself when it gets wet from rain, warm temps or sunshine.
