Not really a snow conditions observation but almost went into what looks like an old mine shaft on Argenta. A reminder to be cautious out there and have eyes on your partners at all times.
I've ridden all over the Wasatch and been down Argenta many times over the course of 20 years and this is the first time I've almost fell into a mine shaft or have seen one quite as scary, seemed to be rather deep as the bottom was hard to see and about 8-10 feet wide. The tree growing out of the shaft really tried to sucker me in, luckily I stopped in the time and was able to grab onto a tree and my partner saw the whole thing from below (basically saw me lunge for the tree).
